The Grade 3, $175,000 Noble Damsel on Saturday drew a field of eight fillies and mares 3-years-old and up that will race a mile on the turf as part of the Belmont at the Big A fall meeting.
Ocean Club was named the lukewarm 7-2 morning line favorite for trainer Jack Sisterson and jockey Frankie Dettori in this field where five of the them were assigned odds between 7-2 and 6-1.
Edict will make her first start in America for trainer David Donk and owner John Behrendt. The Argentine-bred won the same Grade 1 races in South America as Didia won in 2021 before becoming the winner of the New York (G1) at this year’s June Saratoga meeting.
“I had John and [wife] Theresa Behrendt’s first horses when I went out on my own after working for Woody [Stephens]. It has been a long and loyal friendship. We’ve had success over the years, but more importantly, it is their loyalty as clients,” Donk said. “It is really fun to have a horse of this quality from John’s operation in Argentina.”

(9) Midnight Mile (A) has three second-place finishes since coming from Great Britain to join the Chad Brown barn. Last time in an allowance she was keen to run while under heavy restraint, got the lead, and missed by a neck in a blanket finish. Her first two American races were in stakes in New York. She was a Group 3 winner earlier in her career at Newmarket. (5) Alluring Angel is also from Chad Brown. She won her last two starts in allowance races following a couple of layoffs. After winning her debut, she was twice stakes placed. (2) Five Towns was third in the Canadian (G2) at Woodbine following a three month layoff for Graham Motion. She was a stakes winner in April at Laurel. (4) Edict was last seen winning a Grade 1 race in Argentina and has since moved to the barn of David Donk. She trained at Saratoga and Belmont to prepare for her American debut.
