Chad Brown duo top the Poker at Belmont Park on Saturday

By NY Hot List staff | Friday, June 17, 2022

Four-time Eclipse Award winning trainer Chad Brown will try and win the $250,000 Grade 2 Poker for the first time on Saturday at Belmont Park. Brown has the top two choices from the morning line in the field of five. The British-bred Masen (6-5) will be making his third start in America and multiple graded stakes winner Public Sector (5-2) will run for the second time in 2022 for Brown.

Flavien Prat will get back on board Masen who is a Juddmonte home-bred and Jose Ortiz will ride Klaravich Stable’s Public Sector for the first time taking over for his brother Irad.

Wolfie’s Dynaghost (5-1), who is a half-brother of millionaire Sadler’s Joy, will try and pull an upset for trainer Tom Albertrani.

“I thought maybe the soft ground wasn’t to his liking for his last performance, but we’re hoping to get back onto firm ground,” Albertrani said. “He’s been training well going into this race. We’ll hopefully get a better performance this weekend.”

The $250,000 Poker (G3) – Belmont Park, Saturday, Race 6.
