Hot Fudge goes for five wins in a row in Correction on Saturday at Aqueduct

By NY Hot List staff | Thursday, March 7, 2024

The $100,000, six-furlong Correction at Aqueduct on Saturday drew a field of 10 fillies and mares. The Linda Rice runner Hot Fudge will try and win for the fifth time in a row and the 8th time in 13 career starts. Adam Rice will fill in for his sister while she is serving a two-week suspension.

Hot Fudge’s main competition will come from the NY-bred Kant Hurry Love who finished a neck behind the even-money favorite in the Garland of Roses at the Big A in December.

David Duggan trains the 5-year-old Kant Hurry Love who won a NY-bred stakes in June and over $436,000.

“For us, we’re after some black type to get her some value. She’s more than likely going to run for the rest of the year, so we’ll just keep picking our spots,” said Duggan.

The $100,000 Correction at Aqueduct, Saturday, Race 8, 4:58 pm EST.

(5) Hot Fudge won her last four races which includes the Interborough and the Garland of Roses which she did from a stalking position but has also won on the lead. Overall, she won 5 out of her 6 starts at Aqueduct and 7 out of 12 in her career. (4) Kant Hurry Love ran five stakes races in a row, hitting the board in four of them and winning the Dancing Renee for NY-breds. She was just a neck behind the top choice in the Garland of Roses. (3) Quick Munny is fast out of the gate and fast to get to the lead. Trainer Rob Atras has been red hot lately. (2) Starship Defiant found success at Aqueduct two races back in an allowance at Aqueduct but then tried to ship to Oaklawn for a starter allowance and he got steadied along the rail while contending for the victory.
