Lucky Leon's Cheltenham Festival Tips: Day 2
Your No-Nonsense Guide to Ladies' Day
Day 1 is in the books. Now we move to Wednesday — Ladies' Day — headlined by the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the fastest, most electric two miles in jump racing. Three Grade 1s, a wide-open handicap, and four bets I'm confident in.
Lock them in. Let's go.
How Did Leon Do on Day 1?
Less lucky on day 1 but brimming with confidence for day 2, Wednesday.
Race 1, Talk the Talk, ran out of steam unfortunately on the race to the line.
Race 5, The New Lion, hit the wall 2 furlongs out, finished third
Race 4, Quebecois ran well, caught close home, finished third.. Show paid $3 for $1bet
Day 1: Based on $10 per selection stake, we ended day 1 down $10.
🏆 Race 1 , # 8 Win and Place
I'll Sort That — Turners Novices' Hurdle (Race 1 / 9:20 AM ET)
What is this race?
The Grade 1 opener on Day 2 — two and a half miles on the Old Course, more stamina required than me in the Guinness tent at the end of the day.
Why I'll Sort That ?
The market favorite is No Drama This End at 7/2. But the stats don't like him: five-year-olds have a near-zero win rate here, the trainer has no success in this race, and the jockey is the same. Three consecutive trend failures on one horse, its time to take on the market leader and find real value for me.
Our selection has the engine to take advantage. I spoke with one of the best Irish handicappers and he highlighted his raw ability and compared him to a genuine stayer — a horse with guts to burn and a massive stride. At 25/1, in a race where the chalk fails every historical filter, this is the kind of value play Cheltenham was made for.

🏆 Race 2, # 2 Win
Final Demand (Win) — (Race 2 / 10:00 AM ET)
What is this race?
Three miles and one furlong, 19 fences, and a roll of honor that includes superstars.
Why Final Demand?
My spy tells me top Irish trainer Willie Mullins' likes our chances here. Five wins from six starts, three Grade 1 performances in four outings, and a chasing debut at Navan that drew gasps. When this trainer and jockey team up, you want to be with them
Lucky Leon says: Back Final Demand to win.
🏆 Race 3 # 14 Win and Place
Kateira (Win & Place) — (Race 3 / 10:40 AM ET)
What is this race?
A Grade 3 handicap hurdle over two and a half miles — one of the most competitive races of the week.
Why Kateira?
Top trainer, top jockey with a long history in this race. Their previous history includes a horse who looked off his game all winter, then turned up and won the race twice. Kateira has been similarly quiet, but she's dropping from 12 stone to 11, the ground is drying which suits, and the trainer co-owns her. His money is literally in the race, and so is ours.
Lucky Leon says: Win bet, and make mine a large one!
🏆 Race 5, # 8 Win
Majborough (Win) — (Race 5 / 12noon ET)
What is this race?
The feature race of Day 2. Two miles, 13 fences, the best two-mile chasers in the world going flat out. — and puts Majborough firmly in the spotlight.
Why Majborough?
Top trainer, jockey and owner. He is the favourite and rightly so, our money will be down hard on this one and we will be enjoying watching it romp to victory from the Guinness tent and wishing you were here to celebrate with us !
Lucky Leon says: Back Majborough to win.
