What Is the March Madness Basketball Shootout?

The March Madness Basketball Shootout is a free-to-play basketball competition running at all Winners and MyWinners venues in Connecticut. It is simple, free, and open to anyone aged 18 or over.

How Does the Basketball Competition Work?

Registering and playing could not be easier. Here is how it works:

  • Step 1 — Register at your nearest Winners venue. Visit any participating Winners or MyWinners location between March 18 and April 4 and sign up to play.

  • Step 2 — Take your shot. Each registration gives you one attempt. Give it everything you have got — your score goes straight to the leaderboard.

  • Step 3 — Watch the leaderboard. A live public leaderboard is displayed on screens throughout every venue. Check where you stand against the competition all March Madness long.

  • Step 4 — Win. The top three scores when the leaderboard closes at 7:55 PM ET on April 4 walk away with the prizes.

Why This Basketball Competition Is Worth Your Time

The leaderboard is determined by your single highest score — so one great attempt is all it takes. You do not need to grind. You do not need to keep coming back. One registration, one attempt, one shot at the top of the board.

And with the live leaderboard running on venue screens from day one, you will know exactly where you stand from the moment you play.

You can also keep an eye on your position at any time. Just check the leaderboard here.

When Does It Close?

The leaderboard closes at 7:55 PM ET on Friday April 4, 2025 — Final Four Day. That gives you from March 18 to get in there, take your shot, and stake your claim at the top.

Do not leave it to the last minute. The earlier you play, the earlier you know your score is in contention.
