By NY Hot List Staff | Friday, May 19, 2023

If you’re looking for the featured race Saturday at Belmont Park, you may have to do some searching – and arrive at the racetrack early. The $150,000 Paradise Creek will be contested as the second race of the day on an 11-race card that begins at 12:30 p.m. ET. A field of nine was entered in the seven-furlong turf stakes for 3-year-olds that promises to be a wide-open affair with some interesting betting options.

The $150,000 Paradise Creek, Belmont Park, Saturday, Race 2.

(3) Inflation Nation made his first start of 2023 a good one when he ran second the entire mile in the Woodhaven at Aqueduct last month. The Christophe Clement runner was stakes-placed last year in four starts in turf sprints. A fast pace is projected for the Paradise Creek which should set-up a closing move that this son of Speightstown preferred to use last year. Regular rider Dylan Davis stays on board. (4) Eye Witness ships up to New York from Kentucky for Wesley Ward. This NY-bred missed the win by a head in his debut in September at Aqueduct on the grass but then made his next two starts on the artificial surface at Turfway Park. In March he pressed the pace and won the Animal Kingdom Stakes. (1) Charging broke his maiden at Keeneland last month for Brad Cox by six lengths with a front-end effort as the favorite. (7) Vacation Dance was a stakes winner last year at Aqueduct when he won the Atlantic Beach for the good turf trainer John Kimmel. He broke his maiden at Saratoga while racing from off the pace. He appeared to need a race in his first start of this year.
