The Correction heads Saturday card at Aqueduct

A week after hosting an important Kentucky Derby prep, the spotlight at Aqueduct will shift to a more typical winter feature Saturday when filly and mare sprinters will square off in the $100,000 Correction Stakes. The field of eight for the six-furlong stakes is topped by Rossa Veloce who has won three of her last four starts and will break from the rail in the black-type test.

Here’s the Hot List picks for the Correction:

The $100,000 Correction Stakes, Aqueduct, Saturday, Race 9

(1) Rossa Veloce was claimed for $32,000 at the end of the Saratoga meeting and since then won 3 out of her last 4 starts for Rob Atras. She has eight career wins and six of them are at Aqueduct. From the rail she is projected to get a clear early lead. (5) Easy to Bless was a stakes winner at the Big A last year and last month won a third-level allowance with a closing move. The 5-year-old mare won 10 races in her career with four of them at Aqueduct.  (3) Prodigy Doll was fifth in a Grade 3 at Laurel last month following a win in a top-level optional claimer at the Maryland track. (7) Secret Love was a winner in a second-level allowance at Aqueduct in December with a stalking trip that would work well with this field.
