NYRA closed the old Belmont Park in 2024 for a full demolition and rebuild costing roughly 455 million dollars. The Belmont Stakes moved to Saratoga Race Course for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 runnings while construction was underway, and the new facility opened for racing on September 18, 2026.
