Much More than a Sports Bar
Two floors. More than 200 HD screens. An 80 foot onyx bar, 32 draft lines and a full Winners racebook upstairs. This is where Fairfield County comes to watch the big game, back a horse and eat like it’s Saturday night, every night of the week.

A Room Built for Game Day
Walk in and the first thing you notice is the two story media wall. The second is the 80 foot onyx bar running underneath it. More than 200 HD screens wrap both floors, so the Giants game, the Yankees game and the fifth at Aqueduct can all play at once without anyone fighting over the remote. There are over 250 seats across booths, high tops and dining tables, and the building holds up to 600 guests when the whole place is booked out.
Thirty two draft lines pour craft and big name beers side by side, and the cocktail list goes well beyond the usual sports bar suspects. Order a Bobby’s Old Fashioned and settle in.
Stamford’s Sports Bar Since 1980
Before Bobby Valentine managed the Mets, the Rangers and the Red Sox, he was a Stamford kid with a restaurant. He opened Bobby Valentine’s Sports Cafe on Main Street in 1980, filled it with memorabilia and turned it into the room where downtown Stamford watched its sport. That original cafe is also where Valentine claims he invented the wrap sandwich.
In July 2017 the operation moved around the corner to 268 Atlantic Street, into a 25,000 square foot building designed from the ground up for live sport and betting. The soft launch started the way you would hope. Valentine invited about 60 friends over to watch the Belmont Stakes. A decade later, the room is still full whenever something big is on.
What’s on the Menu at Bobby V’s Stamford
The kitchen does proper sports bar food, made with fresh ingredients and some locally sourced produce. Start with Stamford Skins or the queso blanco, then pick a fight over the wings. There are ten sauces, from Buffalo and garlic Parmesan to habanero mango, coconut curry and hot Jamaican jerk, plus four dry rubs if you like them crisp.
Burgers are a house specialty. The Smokehouse Bacon & Cheddar is the one to beat. Hand tossed pizzas, a shaved strip steak sandwich, penne vodka and a 12 ounce ribeye round things out, and dessert ends on scoops from Longford’s, Stamford’s own ice cream maker. Kids 12 and under get their own $8 menu.

Watch Parties Stamford Still Talks About
Some nights the room becomes part of the story. On March 29, 2026, UConn trailed No. 1 seed Duke by 15 at halftime of the Elite Eight. Braylon Mullins answered with a 35 foot buzzer beater, UConn won 73 to 72, and Bobby V’s Stamford erupted. MyWinners had a camera in the building to catch the moment the shot dropped.
March Madness is always huge here. News 12 Connecticut reported hundreds of fans packing the bar on the opening Thursday of the 2025 tournament, with thousands more expected that weekend. For World Cup 2026, Bobby V’s Stamford served as the MyWinners home base for all five weeks, from the USMNT opener against Paraguay on June 12 to the final at MetLife Stadium on July 19.
NFL Sundays, fight nights, Triple Crown races and the Breeders’ Cup all get the same treatment. Big screens, a full kitchen and a crowd that cares about the result as much as you do.
Christmas and Holiday Parties in Stamford
Bobby V’s hosts office parties, team nights and family get togethers for groups of 25 to 600, with packages that run from passed appetizers to full seated dinners built with the Executive Chef. Gluten free options and a full bar are available for every package.
