Sunday, March 29, 2026 is a night nobody who watched March Madness at Bobby V’s Stamford will forget. UConn trailed No. 1 seed Duke by 19 points in the first half of the Elite Eight. Then Braylon Mullins let fly from about 35 feet with 0.4 seconds on the clock, the ball dropped, and 268 Atlantic Street erupted.
UConn won 73 to 72 and booked a Final Four spot. Here’s how the game unfolded, what the room looked like when that shot fell, and how to get your crew into Bobby V’s for the next one.
How UConn Came Back Against Duke
Duke went into the locker room up 44 to 29 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. That turned out to be the largest halftime lead a No. 1 seed has ever blown in tournament history, according to the Associated Press report.
UConn didn’t shoot its way back. Dan Hurley’s side made just 5 of 23 from three. Tarris Reed Jr. did the damage inside with 26 points, matching Cameron Boozer’s 27 for Duke almost blow for blow.
Alex Karaban’s three cut the gap to one with under a minute left. Silas Demary then deflected a Duke pass near midcourt, the ball found Mullins, and the freshman buried it with 0.4 seconds left.

What Came Next for UConn
The win sent the Huskies to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for a national semifinal against third seeded Illinois on Saturday, April 4. You can read our full breakdown of the game and the betting angles in our UConn vs Duke Elite Eight recap.
Inside Bobby V’s Stamford When Mullins Hit the Shot
Our own camera was in the building, and the caption on our Elite Eight recap says it all: MyWinners at Bobby V’s in Stamford went crazy as the last gasp points went in. A 35 foot game winner looks good on any screen. It looks better on over 200 of them.
That’s what March Madness at Bobby V’s Stamford looks like inside Winners @ Bobby V’s Stamford. Over 200 HD screens, more than 250 seats, 32 draft lines and a full kitchen. [ROB: add crowd size, food or drink specials, or any giveaway from the night if marketing can confirm them. Do not publish this note.]
This isn’t new for the building either. News 12 Connecticut reported hundreds of fans packing Bobby V’s for the opening Thursday of the 2025 tournament, with thousands more expected that weekend.
Betting on UConn in Connecticut: What the Rules Allow
Here’s the twist. Nobody in Bobby V’s held a ticket on UConn against Duke, because Connecticut law keeps in state college teams off the board for single game bets. No spread, no moneyline, no props.
The one exception is a short futures window. From Selection Sunday, March 15 at 6pm ET, until the First Four tipped off on March 17, fans could bet UConn men or UConn women to win the national title through Fanatics Sportsbook at MyWinners and Winners venues. Anyone who grabbed a men’s ticket in that window was sweating Mullins’ shot harder than anyone.
Everything else in the tournament stays fair game at the Fanatics kiosks for bettors 21 and over.
